Good morning Milkman customers. How’s this weather as a great example of why we love Pennsylvania and the Milkman Lunch Co. & Cake Shoppe? We’re starting off our Vegetarian week with soup and sandwich specials that will warm your heart and make your tummy say “Yuumm”! Come by and try Chef Sam’s delicious Potato & Corn Chowder that’s warm and thick and just what you want to help melt away the cold. If you need something something more substantial to send old man winter packing, then you should try our Portabello Veggie Griller.
Grilled Portabello Mushrooms on a toasted Kaiser Roll served with Roasted Peppers, sliced tomatoes, sun-dried tomato spread, romaine, provolone, and a heaping portion of warmth and home that your Mom might have made.
Our cake by the slice is a Buttermilk Spice Cake with Caramel Buttercream that’s perfect for your afternoon tea or this evening’s dinner. Coffee Cake Streusel Muffins may be what you need to go along with your morning cup of Premium coffee which is also available at the Milkman this week. Please drop by and see us today if you have questions about your next home or office event or about your child’s birthday party. We would love a chance to explain what we can do to help make your upcoming holiday gatherings a complete success despite Uncle Frank’s sagging toupee’ or Aunt Marge’s Fruitcake suprise.
Drive carefully as you’re going about your day ladies and gentlemen. Remember to stop by the Milkman today for lunch or for after school treats for the little ones.

Letting Our Hair Down!

The Milkmen are in the process of creating it’s most ambitious and magical cake to date. Based on the fairy tale about a young lady kept high atop a stone tower with no means of escape except to have the hero climb up her flowing tresses. Unlike the story, this creation is no fairy tale. Chef Sam and Milkman Chris have been working diligently to capture the spirit and colorful nature of the story using only the finest ingredients. We’ll have pics soon, so visit us again to see the final results. It’s already too beautiful to eat.
This week Chef Sam, and soon-to-be Chef Jackie(she graduates on Nov. 20th, 2012) have been hard at work making Blueberry muffins, Chocolate Chip and Peanut Butter cookies, Blackberry bars, Raspberry-Coconut cupcakes, as well as many other delectable treats to start your weekend out right. Come in and check them all out yourself.
If you’re still cleaning up from Hurricane Sandy, and you just don’t feel up to making desserts or weekend snacks then come on in because we’ve already done all the hard work for you.
Check us out on Facebook to view photos of our work or stop by to inquire about catering for your upcoming party or special event. So this weekend don’t be afraid to let your hair down, and don’t forget to turn those clocks back.

GOOD MORNING NEWS

“Good Mornin’. Good Mornin’. You’ve slept the whole night thru. The Milkman says ‘Mornin’ to you. Just a little nod to Debbie Reynolds, Gene Kelly and Donald O’Connor.
Ok, lets get down to business. To those of you that read about the Hummingbirds that Chef Sam worked so diligently to capture for his delicious Hummingbird Cake–SSSSOOOORRRRYYYY. It’s gone. Like that proverbial wind that we’ve all
heard tell of, the Hummingbird has left the building. In it’s place is today’s creation-Triple Layer Mocha Cake. Chocolate and Yellow cake covered in Mocha Buttercream, drizzled with milk chocolate, and decorated with—aaaagggghhhh. I can’t stand it. This is cruel and inhuman. I can’t have any. Where’s the love for the Cake Pop?
Fresh Blueberry muffins are just now being taken from the oven, and Raspberry bars should be finished in about 2 hours.
The Milkman himself (Mr. Chris) has been busy all morning completing what promises to be one great salad. With a nod to the West Coast because of it’s raw ingredients, The ‘Hollywood Boulevard’ is overflowing with goodness. This masterpiece contains layers of Avacado, Buffalo Mozzarella, Cucumber and Tomatoes. Garnished with Basil leaves and served with Balsamic Vinaigrette on a bed of fresh, crispy Romaine. AARRGGHHH!!! I gotta go folks. Chef Sam has gone shopping and if I move quickly I can enjoy a cookie before he gets back. YYUUMM. This cookie’s as big as a salad plate. Don’t forget to come in and talk to The Milkman about his new creation. Love, Peace & Happiness to you all.

ROCKIN’ AT THE CAKE SHOPPE

Happy Wednesday to you all. The word of the day is “Hummingbird”. ‘Hummingbird Cake that is. Chef Sam has been busy for the last week capturing hummingbirds and he got pretty lucky. Come on in and take a look, then take a piece home for dinner or to enjoy with your favorite cup of tea. It’s an Old-fashioned banana cake with crushed pineapple. Hurry! It’s going fast.
Our sandwich special this week
is the ‘West Coast Turkey’. Roast Turkey, sliced, then served with Romaine, Sprouts, and served on Whole Wheat bread. Make your meal the event that it can be by adding sides, a beverage, and one of Chef Sam’s tasty and delicious cupcakes, or a muffin.
This past weekend the Milkman Crew was in attendance at the Prayers & Poinsettias fund raiser at Montco. We had a wonderful time. We met lots of great people, including some local business owners. God Bless them and the wonderful work they are doing to educate children.
That’s it for today gang. This is Cake Pop signing off. Peace, Love, Happiness, and Lots of Cake from the Milkman Lunch Co. & Cake Shoppe.
